Embarrassed by Tahoe?

Not to go too far off topic here... My buddy and I have been smack talking and this badass Tahoe talk is kind of making me wonder. He's got a 2005 chevy 2500hd 6.0- intercooler, headers, tune... Maybe a few other things. Says he runs a 14.9 1/4. I think I'm right there with him w the Buick and listed sig mods. Thoughts? We've both been way too busy to get to the track.
 


bone stock gtp's run high 14's low 15's. you should be low 14's (depending on driver) with your mods.
if he is really right in him running high 14's, you should be able to walk this guy, but it looks like hes got quite a bit done under the hood so im a little suspicious of that number he gave you.

my mom has escalade with the 6.2 and my dad raced me in it at a stop light and i had my gtp with a cai and i barely got him the 6.2 is rated at 413 at the crank now

I think the Buick runs a second slower than a GTP in quarter mile due to weight/ weight distribution. So really, low 15s is what I'm looking at...

every hundred pounds give or take is about a tenth in the quarter.

The average curb weight for an Ultra is 3900~ lbs...about 500+ lbs. more than a GTP. But since you're modded, I'd expect mid to higher 14's out of the Ave.
 
I have a 6.0L silverado and its fast off the line but after about 30 I would think a gt could walk away hard to say tho when your in something that big you never feel like your going fast
 
my base gp pulled away from a 6.0 silverado before and stayed even with those nissan titans. dont know if you buick could beat him but i think you could, a buddy of mine has a X runner with a factory S/C and he walked all over a SS Silverado that had a CAI and cammed. the Taco i think had only a CAI. Those tacos are pretty decent trucks but i like the SS silverados much more but only if they made 4 doors of those SS trucks.
 


i like the part were you(op) said he was driving like an a-hole, yet you chose to now race the a-hole to 100mph. lol. not saying i havent done the same thing though lol
