Egr valve bad??

Ok I was going down the road and my service engine light came on,pulled over and got my obd scanner out and got a p1404 code,said egr valve was stuck open or something like that, can't make much of what they are trying to explain about the code,is my egr valve bad,will it hurt the car for now,can anyone explain the code further,thanks
 


Mine had that issue for ever. Only time I ever noticed a problem was when I would take off from a stop sign at low speeds it would cause the car to struggle. DELETED that thing and never had another issue.
 
Ok and I didn't drive it for a week and went to drive it and it idled like 💩 for a few seconds and when it got warm it was ok,did it earlier but only sit for a day or 2,could the valve being sticky be the problem?
