EGR Tube to exhaust manifold

Just cut off the 2 brackets that connect to the LIM and rear header...RTV a penny in them so it seals them off...then bolt them down...remove the gold tubing and the EGR...done.

The tube is replaceable, it's a slip fit, so you won't need any gaskets, but you could put a little bit of High Temp RTV on the joints if you wanna make sure that they don't leak. A 13mm bolt holds it onto the LIM, and a 13mm nut holds the tube onto the bottom of the EGR bracket.

You can find them practically anywhere since a lot of people remove them. Be careful though, they're kind of brittle, so try not to bend the replacing one too much.

Oh sorry didnt see reptiles post. Thanks reptile..

@ bluegtp and 01gtp, there are 2 tubes correct and the one you posted is the tube to the LIM and not the manifold correct?

The tube that is leaking is the one to the rear manifold and not the LIM.

Here is a pic i found in the forums..The tube that is leaking is the silverish one that is cut

dont think that one is replaceable.

But then again, i've never had the EGR apart.

Is it leaking right at the rear manifold though?

I have and was waiting for someone else to bring this back up into my thread list.

To my knowledge that tube isn't replaceable. You replace the pedistal and tube at once.

Oops...sorry.....yeah, that one there isn't replaceable, it comes with the bracket. I've got like 6 of them laying around.

Okay. I guess i must replace the whole thing then.

And i just went outside and rechecked the leak and it is leaking from in between the manifold and tube.

Im gonna take you guys advice and unhook the tube and put some rtv gasket in between and bolt it back on.

Anybody know the bolt size to remove it from the manifold?
