well im attemting to installe my SLP headers tomorrow. the rear header has the block of plate bolted to it. now do i block the other side of the tube or leave it open to breathe fresh air?

You don't want the tube sucking fresh air, it'll make you run lean. You either need to hook it up to the headers or completely disable the EGR system.

so if i block it off @ the LIM also then its completely removed?
sorry for all the questions its my first header install.

Yep. If you block off the EGR at the LIM it's now useless. Well, it's useless anyway. Ditch that crap. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Gonna have to get the codes deleted if you do a full removal, though.

the egr gets in the way too. That clip that goes into the top of the egr can just hang there?

yes. mine is just hanging there. you have to delete some codes in the PCM otherwise it will always have an SES light.

ok so i have it blocked on the flange then i block it off @ the LIM then i take the whole egr can out! right?!?

as for the codes does anyone know which one's they are? only because i prob wont be able to delete them right a way, so id like to know which ones to look for.

Yup as long as it is blocked off at the Header and LIM then take the entire piece out...just wrap the wires back around somewhere or put it in the loom...I took my wiring for it out...sometimes I wish I didn't but meh...oh well...I'll never put the EGR back in...I'll let the dealership who sells it worry about putting all the emissions back on it:th_jester:

has anyone used the egr removal kit form zzp. it has a lot of mixed reviews and i was debating about getting it. i love getting rid of useless electronics but not at the cost of horsepower or running crappy

thanx alot everyone! i have the whole egr system taken off, & the LIM blocked w/currency along with the zzp exhaust block off plate on. im going to finish the front header & cat tomorrow :)
