eclipse gsx race

not a kill story but i raced my first off the line race the other day. was against a gsx eclipse. he had some mods, at least a blow off valve (turbo), was a stick shift, awd? we took off from the light and were neck and neck the whole time. we each gave each other thumbs up when it was over. :D all i have is a cone filter so i was happy. good race? im not sure how quick those cars are.

gst is not. bone stock with cone filter its a high 14's and you'll hear any turbo with cone filter. but good ****. shut those turbo eclipses down,.

yeah its good to know my car still performs in its condition. still have a lot of maintenance work to do. how do these cars normally compare to gsx's?

Nice run. The GSX comes stock with about 210 crank HP i believe. But they are a little lighter than our cars.

never heard of a twin turbo eclipse

A few people have tossed in the 6G72 from the 3K and either kept the smaller stock TT setup so it fits or ditch it for a larger single turbo setup but it requires a lot more cuttin...but its been done...there are a couple LEGIT vids on youtube of them...but most of them are BS.

thats the most stupid thing i've heard. The 4g63 is a better motor capable of more power and less problems. I was thinking of buying a ws6 and putting the 3800 in there cause its supercharged.

Why throw out an engine that starts with 300+ hp? A few bolt on's and youve got a force to be reckoned with. There's a lot of supporting mods that need to be done to the L67's before you can even think about swapping that pulley. And even then, most people end up swapping for a turbo when they want higher performance out of these engines.

I've had and burned so many 4g63t's.... my brother has my old Talon which is modded and I destroyed it when I was stock. They are heavy. AWD with all Iron.

Find it interesting that a lot of people on here love the 3800 with a turbo, but still say how great Pontiac is when Buick did back in the 80's. Not ragging, just find it interesting.

AWD Mits don't tend to hold up too well with drive axles, cvs and transmissions, but for those first 27 launches they are fun.
