ebay brakes??

Anyone run any of these brake and rotor kits from ebay? " like 2 slotted rotors and ceramic pad's for $98" Are they junk, just seems pretty cheap. Is it better to just go to my local napa and get a regular setup. My car just see's normal day to day driving.

Thanks

I got mine off ebay and they seem to be fine, I haven't died yet. Then again I'm not going to leave them on for a really long time. Probably no longer than a year.

I can't remember but there is another person on this forum that has gotten the rotors and pads off of ebay and loves them/no bad things to say about them.

I just ordered drilled slotted ebay rotors the other day, bu8t haven't had time to install them yet. If you do your research like I did, you will find out that one company is selling powerstop DS rotors and pads for cheaper than Rock Auto prices for stock replacements.

wanna give a link?

I'm at work so I cant get on ebay... Google it, one of the F-body forums gave me the answer, but I'm sure its been discussed on here before as well.

A guy on one of the 3000GT/Stealth forums went with ebay brake rotors.

It was almost the biggest mistake of his life as it almost ended his life. He was actually running at Nurburing.

This vid is the end result

YouTube - ‪Broken Brakes‬‏

There is actually in car vid of when it happened, but I cant find it right now.

In the GXP front brake upgrade write up it says to use EBC (IIRC) rotors from ebay, and Powerstop is a legit company, so I wouldn't rule out all of them because one guy broke his brakes at the nuburing.

IMO, I wouldn't put eBay brakes if I was going to track. They make special application ones for those. And I wouldn't see a problem with eBay ones on a day to day basis. Not like you heavily braking around corners.

Ya if he had eBay brakes on when he was going to a track like that where it is nothing but braking way more than typical normal driving he is an idiot. For normal DD driving around town I wouldn't care if they were eBay.

I have the Fbody rotors drilled and slotted from Ebay. They are great with no issues. Have them on over a year. I painted the the ends and inside since the do tend to rust but what rotor doesnt. Cant beat the price. I drive 55 miles in traffic everyday and no issues not even wrapping.

i got the drilled out rotors with pads and all for like $200 total for all 4. and yeah not bad at all.
and
these are in like that coating that prevents the hub from rusting too and looking like crap. mine havent rusted and i put them on before winter. im pretty happy :P

I had these on my gp for 9 months before I sold it and they are GREAT. I even bought them for my 08 acadia and 08 sierra. You need to buy the following:

2 Front 2 Rear Brake Rotors and 8 Ceramic Pads Chevy 03 | eBay

And these too

Impala Monte Carlo SS 12" Front Brake Calipers Brackets | eBay

Then you will have the 12 inch up grade and better stopping. The second listing is just for the caliper brkts and not the calipers. Your stock calipers fit into these brkts.

Ordered these from ebay. Thanks guy's!
