What would cause my blower belt to constantly be jumping off one rib on the crank pulley. It usually (90% of the time) jumps to the inner side leaving the outermost rib in the pulley exposed. Sometimes I can drive for days and it stay where it should, and other times I'll have to relocate it multiple times in the same day. Could it be the harmonic balancer is out of whack? It does have 120k miles on it. It did this a few times before I rebuilt the engine this winter/spring, also. It just seems to be getting worse...
 


if you have added an aftermarket pulley then the pully is not sitting on the snout shaft properly. its too far in or too far out
 
^That would do it, or your balancer could be falling apart, and very "flimsy" so the whole thing would shake your belts around. But if its JUST the supercharger belt, then probably not going to be the balancer.

Might also inspect the idler pulleys, and the tensioner pulley. Remove your belt, and give each one a spin, and make sure it spins smooth, and does not make too much noise or stops too easy. If it does, then it needs to be replaced.

If they are plastic, I would yank them and toss them, and by the nicer metal ones.

maybe youre just putting it on the wrong ribs? i know if i put mine all the way to the outside it will move itself back inward because its not completely straight.
 


The tensioner is new.
The idler pulleys are fairly new, metal, and still in good shape.
The blower pulley is a 3.4 ZZP modular with the belt in the center 6 ribs (the correct location, right?)
I've tried placing it on the outer ribs and on the inner ribs of the blower pulley and it still jumps to the inside on the crank.

I'll check the coil bracket and pull my pulley off the snout and make sure it's flush with the end of the snout.
