I went to replace my hub assembly and I noticed grease was every where from the cv boot so I figured I change the axel do I have to remove the ball joint and how hard is this process? Or can you just take the a arm down and slid it out?

i like to pop the tie rod end out of the knuckle then push it out of the hub. some have said it will just come out with out popping the ball joint or tie rod.

to get it out of the tranny, you need to push it in, so its off the C clip inside, then with a pry bar wedged in between the trans and axle. you pretty much have to kick the pry bar to pop it past the C clips thats holding it in.

key is it cant be resting on the C clip or it wont come out. push it in, then pop it out.

And if you take your ball joint off do you need a special tool to put it back in? These may be dumb questions but I'm not a mechanic!

I have a special tool. Gearwrench 82248, it's the official axle removal tool for me and ... it is Scottdoggs approved!

Well that was a job, ended up doing a ball joint tie rod axel and wheel bearing but I can't get the abs and traction control light off

Mine broken on the part of the harness that run across the LCA, I pulled the loom back and could easily see where they broke off as the wire was just sitting in the loom
