E85 conversion, question about pump and injectors

So I've decided on doing the E85 conversion, because its available around here and to set myself up for future mods...and I just think its pretty cool :)

But I'm confused on which pump and injectors to get. I'm looking at these 60lb injectors:

Deatschwerks 32D-00-0060-8

Are these plug and play on my 01 impala?

And this fuel pump:

Deatschwerks 9-301-1000

But not positive about which pump because there are many variations of the Deatschwerks pump. The one I chose says its for universal application. Will this pump work in my return style 01 impala? Do I need anything else to make it fit?

Also found this wire kit for the pump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! If anyone has a better suggestion for e85 please chime in.

I pulled the trigger on an Aeromotive Stealth 340 pump. Waiting on a guy to get back with me on some 60lb injectors. Would 80's be totally overkill? I can get set of 8 for 300. Then i could wire up the other two into my exhaust tips and throw flames as I'm burning down the highway at 150mph at night :D

Everything you just said you got is overkill, not just the 80's. That pump is gonna flow wayyyyy more than you'll ever use unless you turbo it. And 60's are big, but pretty standard for like a 350whp E85 build. You're gonna hate your fuel economy on them. Not that you care since you're doing E85. But still.

What are your (future) mod plans? Helps to know that before saying if those items are gonna be good for you or not.

And you better be able to tune for those injectors or have a canned one on the way.

60's won't decline your fuel economy any. That's just silly. Get 60's. You have more headroom than 42's will give. 80's don't idle quite as nice...I would stick with 60's unless you are going turbo.

The pump was just a good deal that I couldn't pass. It was cheaper than I could get a 255 for. I'm not sure how it makes a difference. Can you explain how it will effect anything by having a larger pump than needed? Seriously, if i'm missing something please help me out.

And the injectors will be 60's most likely. I was just asking about the 80's since I seen them for sale. Mods are headers, ported m90/intake/heads/TB. Probably XP cam, or something a little bigger. I just couldn't afford it right now, and want to do it right when I can buy all the necessary valve train components. Was thinking about a vs cam so I can squeeze it in when I do the swap, but I'm gonna hold off till I can do it right.

If you got a great deal on it then that's different. When I googled it they were all like $170 ish. That's like $80 more for a pump than a 255. Thats the only point i was making there. That pump should work the same.

I saw 80's for sale when i was shopping for larger injectors too. I ended up spending a few hours going through the old threads and just realized that 80's were overkill unless i was putting a turbo on it. And i saw like 25 threads between here and CGP that said they idle like sh1t like GTP said above. Just looking out for you bud.

And i guess i just have a lead foot with my 60's in my setup. Last two tanks for me on them have been like 11 mpg mixed driving. Was getting like 15 with the 42's. Guess i like the 3.0 better. :th_winking:

Thanks. Yeah, 80's are definitely out. Just ordered the 60's. Have you had any issues with the e85? Winter give you any problems? I think my biggest issue is gonna be making sure the wife uses the right pump when she has the car.

No issues as far as the car running well. It loves the corn, Runs better than ever on it.
Cold starts were a little bit of an issue for me. Basically it didn't want to start at all below 40*. Above it, it was/is fine. But below I have to give it gas to get it started.
Not 100% sure, but I'm assuming it's cause my commanded afr was is still set for gas. I'll change it sometime before next winter and see if it improves. But that's not really an issue, more like a personal problem with my tune.

As for your wife, do what I do... don't let her drive your fast e85 car!
