E36 BMW M3 vs GTP

Well when i first got my car, i knew it had some power. And me coming from BMW's i know a few people with them...So one night just rolling on the highway a friend of mine was behind me. He pulls up and rolls down the window and says lets see from a roll. So we slow down, ( no traffic) around, to about 45, and then we time it and then go, He got a little jump but as the rpms rise, I start pulling little by little till i get about 1/2 car at about 90. Then we back off. I was thouroughly suprised. It ran really well.

My car- 98 GTP, 2dr, 3.4 pulley, ZZP PCM, 4" intake, gutted cat.

His car- 97 M3 4 dr 5spd, shark injector ( engine software) and bigger wheels.

Cat(s)????? Last I checked we had one...

You'd probably had beat him worse had you had more supporting mods for that 3.4" pulley...such as a U-Bend Delete, Downpipe, T-Stat, Colder Plugs...just a thought I blew up my car on a 3.5" pulley so you might want to think about swappin those pulleys...but good kill ;)
 
Sorry, just bought the car 2 weeks ago, hadnt been under it yet. Came from a Navigator that had 2.

Water Pump and T-stat and plugs are being done this week.
 
i'm gonna say your friend is a pretty bad driver. U are knocking like a madman with those mods. I had my hands full with an E36 M3 with a gen V, 3.2, VS cam, headers, ZZP tune etc.
I started behind him and it wasn't until 90 or so that I caught him and walked him. He probably started in a high gear.
