Dust Covers?

Hello All,
I was replacing my rear hubs out and while knocking the old hubs off my dust cover/sheild broke into two pieces. So I called O'Reillys Auto Parts and they said it isn't a part that they can get. Has anyone else had this issue in finding replacements? I am at a stand still until I get a replacement.Thanks for the help...

its called a backing plate. i tried to look it up at auto zone no luck there either.

junk yard may be the cheap way out.

Question: Does the C looking part that fell off the back plate required or is it something I could just keep off?

The dust shields are not necessary. I actually ditched them on my Stealth and ran several years with no issue.

so would that not make the brakes run a tad cooler and keep some dust from blowing back onto the front of the wheel? Like bonus?

I never had a dust issue because I tend to run better pads. No idea on the performance/cooler running though. I got rid of mine both front and back and never really thought about it again.
