Dual Climate Digital Temp Reading

I have the digital dual climate controls in my car. I didn't notice it until today because its always been pretty close to the actual temp. However, today it was saying 68-69 when its 85-90 out. Is there a way to reset that or is it going bad or just being stupid?
And I was driving the car for about 30 minutes when I noticed, so it was out in the heat/sun. It was not sitting in the shade for that to affect the reading.

its prolly dead, mine did the same thing.

Said it was 90 when it was only 75 and then 55 when it was 80 ish. It just a small little sensor looking thing with a point on it thats under the front bumper and on the bumpers metal frame, its pretty easy to find when you lay on you back and crawl under that car.

Its like 12-15 bucks at the dealer.

its good to know because actually mine must have died yesterday, because i also noticed in the 90* weather it read 69* i wish that was the real temp but unfortunatly it wasnt :(

this part readily available at auto part stores?

I know on some cars it take a few minutes to get to the right temp, but it very well could have just gone bad.

Im not sure if a auto parts store has them. The dealer will.

yea it was constant the whole drive from start to finish, good thing i get a discount at both the dealership and parts store :)

Now that makes me wonder, where is it under the bumper?
Because on Monday I just painted that metal bracket under the radiator to cover some of the icky rust that could be seen thru the front bumper...could I have painted that sensor on accident?

I guess I was wrong from what I last said. I forgot where it was located.

I took a picture for you. If you look under the car is right behind the lower valance area and straight up about 7 or 8 inches. It clipped onto the plastic bumper itself. The picture is taken from under the car.

Ok, I remember seeing that yesterday. Thank you very very much for the picture and information. Greatly appreciated!
