Dropping tranny pan

Rather B Blown

So i'm going to drop my trans pan tomorrow, change the filter and fill it back up. Is it good to fill it with dex VI even though the converter will still be full of dexIII? And how much fluid should i buy? i was thinking 8 quarts should do it

get the newest dexron and yes 8 should do it, are you getting that kit (filter and gasket), i think the rubber gaskets are better which is the one in a kit a bought

If the gasket you take off is rubber with metal inside, that's the factory (expected lifetime) gasket and you should resuse it. Read the instructions that come with the service kit about filter neck being snug and not replacing the collar if it's snug.

The factory gasket is a pricey gasket and it's the best you can get. Those rubber ones work, but they don't work like a factory gasket.

Ok thanks i will get the oem gasket, and if the one on there is still good i will return the one i bought.
