dropping pulley size

hi i'm new to the forum but this is one of the biggest questions i have.. i have a 2006 grand prix gt and i would like to drop the pulley size just one size and add a new intake. if i do happen to do either of these things would it make the car unreliable as a daily driving car? my brother says so, but i figured i'd ask on here because i assume theres more knowledgeable guys on here.

Your brother is right.

You drop a pulley size without some sort of exhaust work, like headers or a powerlog or downpipe and you will make everything worse and cause internal damage. Adding flow mods before dropping pulleys is key.

Adding a intake wont harm anything tho, go ahead and do that one. Make your own intake aswell, dont buy one already made because they are a rip off. Search (simple intake pictures) for idea's.

I also have a 2006 gt before I dropped to a 3.6 I did a cold air intake 3" catted downpipe, power log and a short stack intercooler, get a good tune too.
