DRL Delete Fail

Ok on my 99 GTP, I searched the forum and came across the whole "pull the fuse" write up on killing the DRLs... it supposedly will still allow your twilight sensor to work so your headlamps come on automatically at night... this is exactly what i was looking for. Lights on at night, not on during the daytime.

I looked in the fuse panel, pulled the fuse... VOILA! no daytime running annoyance, but it also killed my twilight ability so i HAVE to use the switch... not hard i know but i checked for a twilight fuse and couldnt find one...

is there a separate fuse, or relay or something i need to look for or is mine a lost cause for what i want?

if I put the drl fuse in, everything works as its suppose to, when pulled its completely manual operation

help :th_scratchhead:

I kno I kno its an old thread, that I made lol, I can do what i want :p

MODS... Nawarkks thread that he linked is no longer active. I would assume from the server move. Is there a way to re-activate it or anything. I only ask because it is the only one with pics in it that I can find thru searches. Another DRL thread was started and this prompted my searching for the ones with pics to show where the module is but its gone :th_depressed:

can anything be done?

Found it :D

Ok I just did this and here are pics with me explaining:

Here is what you see when you look at the harness from the drivers side of the vehicle in side where that little fuse thingy is:

What you need to pull has the blue tab on it. Do NOT do anything with the blue tab. That has nothing to do with it.

Here is a pic with it still connected from the bottom of the IP. I'm looking up at it right now. As you can see it's held together by the thing at the end that you simply use a flat head screwdriver to push in. I used both hands. One from the top pulling the harness and one from the bottom with a flat head screw driver pushing the harness out of it's lock position.

Here is what it looks like out of the Heat Sink.

That little tab on the top is what you need to push with the flat head screw driver. Here is a side pic of what you need to push down.

Here is what it looks like off of it's heatsink. Just leave it hanging somewhere.

Now I just did this and I noticed that DRL are OFF and high beams work. If you have your fog light switch on, the fogs will work with the high beams also. If you want your fogs on without your DRL's, you have to move the switch to the next position. DRLS will still be off but now you can turn on your fogs. If you switch it to the last setting all the lights will work including the DRL's. I have yet to drive during the night, so I'll let you know how the automatic lights work.

Hope this helped :D

That's my dash lol super clean right?

Someone should sticky that, or make it available in the how to button on the top.. it's fairly simple, we shouldn't have to look for these pictures all the time lol
