draining the fuel tank

I had my 2001 Grand prix in storage for 3 years. Now I need to drain the fuel tank. A siphon hose does not get into the tank. So how does one empty the tank?

go in the trunk and pull the carpet up and in the middle should be a panel you can unbolt and under that is the fuel pump, take the pump out and suck the fuel out and then put the pump back in.

To drain the fuel tank, we tried disconnecting the fuel line at the filter. But we only got about a gallon out. I saw somewhere that jumping the fuel-relay pins 30 & 87 would "hot wire" the fuel pump. But that did not work.

you need to take the pump out.

there are 2 connectors that you unplug on the top of the pump and 3 lines. 1 for the fuel line, 1 for the return and 1 for the evap. remove those and use a snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring and then pull the pump out.
