Drag Reduction Clips, Hawk HPS, and Which Rotors?

Alight guys I need your advice. I've searched on this site and gpona for a specific answer and no luck. I'm getting Drag Reduction Clips and Hawk HPS pads but I want to know is will slotted rotors be better for the winters in new england due to the snow/water escaping better or if sticking with blanks is good enough? Also I do alot of highway driving and I was told slotted rotors will kill my hawks fast. Is that true? any help will appreciated.

I used to sell them all the time when I worked at NAPA and it's Raybestos that makes them.

Slotted rotors apparently look cool, and might help with the no brakes if you haven't touched them in an hour on the highway when it's raining.

Other than that, you're paying to have material taken off your rotors.

Salt will collect in the slots, and might end up making more noise than if you had solid rotors.

People say things like, you can't switch between conventional and synthetic oil, without any proof (of which there is none). So I challenge you to find evidence that slotted rotors would eat pads faster.

Napa premiums (Gold line I believe, but I'm not 100% certain) aren't a bad choice. E-coating, reasonable price, solid pad surface. Cast and machined in China.

A better choice would be the Centric Premiums. E-coating, slightly pricier, solid pad surface. Cast in China, machined in the USA.

The centric rotors with the high carbon option on rockauto are good. My brother has them on his 03 with wagner thermoquiets. I will be switching to that set up sometime in the spring.

I never heard of those clips. It's an interesting concept. I may give them a shot. Do you have a part number for them?

here you go Guz.
UP 84206 for the 05-08 Gen. Fronts only.
UP 84206 Fronts / UP 84202 Rears for the 97-03 Gen.

I don't know why it doesn't list it for '04 on NAPA and the 04-08 Gen don't have rears which sucks. Also the UP line, which is United Parts, at NAPA is reboxed Raybestos and NAPA's chassis line is Raybestos as well.

If anyone needs any info on who makes what at NAPA let me know. I worked there for 2+ years and AC Delco outsources to Raybestos to make their Chassis and Brake products

there is no gold line. Thats filters but yea the UP Ultra premium line at NAPA is pretty good but I think I'm gonna go with the centric high carbon line. thanks guys
