• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Double din dvd nav digital dic and hud install

thunder71173

SLP, GTP or call it MUT!
I added a double din dvd, nav kenwood to my 99 gt. While I was doing this I added the digital DIC and the HUD. I also added PPI amps and infinity kappa mids and highs at the same time. All of the factory steering controls work thanks to the axxess steering wheel control module DVD works non stop with the bypass and I have hands free blue tooth for the phone. I have also ordered one of the white Carbon fiber 03 ltd edition gauge clusters that I will be adding this week. Let me know what you think guys!

I have the same HU in my car as you. I have an 05 tho...

Do you have an issue with your monitor locking up for a few seconds when you play a song with album art in it?

No I have yet to have an issue with this head unit. I have a high end eclipse in my f150 and this is by far a better deck. I am about to to do a custom ipod install and I may add sattelite radio to it as well. My point with this thread is that its all custom work and pretty easy to install a dbl din in a 97 03 car though lolol

Hows the axxess steering wheel control module work for you? I have the PAC SWI-JACK and it would only work if my car was running(assuming it liked the higher voltage) with my JVC, getting a new head unit soon and debating on trying the PAC out again or just getting the axxess.

You wire an axxess in and follow the directions and it auto programs itself. It is by far the best steering wheel control module on the market! It is as plug and play as it gets you wire it to whatever deck you have the way the instructions tell you and to your wiring harness and hit the volume up button and it auto programs all of your controls to your deck.

that DD is sick lookn man!!!! how did you get it to fit????
i had a chance to get one from a cousin a few years back, my local audio shop said it would be a custom install.... like $400..????!!!

Trim the dash bezel and buy a kit for the single din unit. Cut the sides of of the install kit, bolt them to the side of the double din slide it in the dash and drill new holes so you can secure it in the dash. Make sure you measure out the space you need for the double din and trim a little at a time til the dash peice fits right and there you go.
