Door locks on 2002 coup

I have a problem with my door locks, when I go to lock the doors using the key fob, the passenger side locks but the drivers side does not. The alarm on the car even activates when I open the drivers side door with it being unlocked. Any ides would be appreciated. I am thinking its the drivers side door lock that needs replaced.

the lock actuator took a dump if you dont hear it clicking, or a wire got pinched maybe.

if you hear it try to work, then maybe the linkage popped off. you'll have to take a look inside the door to know better.

Ok, this is what I did. I got in the car and locked the doors with the switch and only the passenger door locked. I locked the drivers door manually and pressed the unlock button on the door and they both unlocked and it acts the same with the key fob. Unlocking the doors work and locking the doors either with the key fob or door does not lock the drivers side. I here something like its trying to lock the drivers door

actuator or linkage failure. take the door skin off the inside of the door, its a few screws and tree clips around the sides and bottom.

once you can see inside work the button for the locks see whats going on.

Found the problem by accident, I was going the take the car to the car wash and could not find the keys. I got my spare set of keys and the key fob worked fine regarding the locks. Something must be wrong with the other so I will have to look in to getting a new one.

open the case, with a Q tip and some rubbing alcohol clean the circuit board and the buttons on the inside of the fob case.

put it back together and see if it works now. if the Q tips are filth dirty after wiping the parts clean i bet it works like a charm.

if it dont work you can glue tin foil to the buttons so they make better contact or use foil tape and a paper hole puncher to make nice little circles to stick on the buttons.

theres a few how to's ive done them all.

as well as bought new fob button pad for like 5 bucks off ebay.

the fob buttons have metallic paint on them so when they hit the wires of the board it makes contact. the foil fixes the worn off paint.
