Door lock help

Hey,

I just got my 99 GP GT and noticed the drivers door lock would not electronically lock, only unlock. Thinking it was the actuator, I replaced the actuator with a used, known good part. That did not change anything! (just used up an hour of my time)

The door will still not lock with the remote, putting it into drive, or with the door switch! Help!!

Anyone else ever have this happen before? All the other door locks work as they should, just the drivers does not lock.

I have looked at the 100 pages in the owners manual for custom settings but not really investigated it yet. Could it be the previous owner has it set to not lock the drivers door electronically?

Thanks,

Yep, manually it locks fine.

When I had the door apart, everything moved just fine and was connected. That is what confuses me! What could this be, (shrug) I mean in my experience, if not the actuator, if it were the door lock module, all the locks would be dead. Never had an issue where the lock will unlock but not lock.

I even checked the connectors for corrorsion, found nothing.

While taking the dash apart last night to replace some HVAC bulbs, I put it all back together and the drivers door lock, locked! Just once though. This is the second time I have seen it do this. It does have it in it! LOL!!!!

Anyway, my theory is, the controller box is near the panels I was moving around and putting back in place, and some movement must have caused something to connect, or move just right to enable it to lock. So tonight I will try and go after the the door lock module you can hear click everytime the locks are locked or unlocked. Who knows, maybe someone hacked into a harness down there with a remote start or something, then removed it...

Stay tuned!

Problem solved!

I located the module, near the steering column. While removing it, the lock, locked. I completely removed it, took it apart, nothing looked out of place so I put it back in.

The lock, locks every time now!

The two connectors looked fine, so did the wires, so I am not sure if just reseating the connectors fixed it or not, but I am not complaining!
