So yesterday me and my fiancé went to campus to pick up our friend to go to olive garden some kid in a 2000ish mustang gt drives by where I'm parked and revs it up so I'm thinking that think sounds nasty. So we pull out of campus and at the stop light i see him sitting the revving it up still so I pull up beside him give him a look. Soon as it hits green we both go at it. Idk how this happen but by 70 I had him by a car length. I have no clue if it's the driver or what but I know he was definitely on it because he chirped them when he hit second gear. Next light he pulls up and won't even look over. I heard his friend say, dude you got beat by a 4 door. In shame the kid wouldn't even race again he just turned and drove away real slow. This all happened in my fiancés 04 gp gt. Completely stock. Believe it or not it happened
 


Timeout...you say its a 04 GT? like 205hp 3600lb 3 people in car bone stock GT? against a 260hp mustang with two people in car? Nah i dont believe it.im sorry. The only way i can see this is if you have a GTP and the stang driver missed a gear and you could beat him then.But not in a N/A, much slower then mustang GT.
 
the 04+ gt's were supercharged. 260 hp. pretty close race as a 2000 mustang gt is rated at a 260 hp as well. sounds like a drivers race...but the stang still had the advantage having two less people.
 


Yea, No.I cant see that happenin.Unless he went from 2nd to 4th thats about the only way i see that happening. Not doggin on you OP but its just on paper and reality a 2004 stock GP GT wont beat a Stock 2000 mustang GT.
 
i was in my buddies 93 mustang g.t 5.0 all boltons/exhaust work done to it. well i 94-95 mustang 3.8 v6 pulls up, light turn green both stangs took off and v6 stang pulled a car and held it...
now the reason we lost, my buddies g/f was driving and car got loud around 3500-4000rpms so that when she was shifting lmao..point of story is dude probably had no clue how to drive it. hey may have chirped in second but thats nothing in a stang.. usually if they take off to hard they spin threw 2nd lols not just chirp into 2nd...
I say either didnt know howto drive, or it was a v6 with g.t badges.
 
it was definitely a gt. very different and distiguishable sound between a mustang v6 and a v8. he probably didnt know how to drive but needless to say it was fun. im not saying that its because the gp is faster but that i got lucky lol
 
Good kill then, like someone(slowpoke?) said before sometimes beating the driver is better then beating the car!
my brother has a 05 mustang g.t with a few mods, He pulls bus lengths on me lol.
