Does powder coating fade

theres differant powders for coating some are more durable. it can fade after a LONG time. but fading isnt the best term for it. slight discoloration would be better.

Well Iwas told these things were taken apart powdercoated then rebuilt and have maybe tops 1500 miles on them.

Powder coating will and can fade depending on the quality. Good quality and prepped powder coating will not fade nor peel. If anything it will chip/crack if a hard enough force strikes it, moreso with age. I deal with powder coated parts all day at work. I can take a hammer and hit it, if it's good it'll simply divet the spot. If it's bad it will begin to chip/flake. As for the rubber feel, my guess is either bad mix of powder, or not really powder coated. Best of luck man, and I'm pretty sure I know who it is as well.
