The way I have removed emblems in the past is with a hair-dryer to heat up the adhesive, and then when it is cool, just some wax remover. The wax remover I use is professional grade bought from a paint supply store. It works really well. But something like goo-gone might work too. Then I wash the car and wax.

i used a hair dryer......and dental floss and pulled it slowly left and right in like a sawing action...then to get the crap let over off i used goo off

i appreciate it guys!! now, goof off wont take the paint off?? or the hairdryer wont fade the black on my car?? i mean i have a 2dr so my moldings are long... thx again!!

If you're talking about the molding that runs the entire length of the door.....you won't get them off that way. They're actually screwed to the door, and will leave holes in them when you remove them.

If your talking about the moldings in the middle of the door, they are held on by two sided tape, but do have pegs that stick out that go into alignment holes in the door. So if you do that, there will be some body work and paint involved. I'm actually working on that right now with the moldings.

awe ****!! im so glad i was told this... thank you everybody for telling me ahead of time so i didnt open up a can of screws up my a**. i had a plan going too. i was gonna buy a blk 4dr with a full sd package on the new england gp forum and transfer the parts from that, onto my car, and debadge and remove the molding and go nice and clean (since my black is in excellent shape for 116k on the clock.) then next thing i wanna do is start a lawsuit on that tinting spray company b/c it came out purple and the can said black. ugh, id be better off with the 77 having fwd and a 4.3 turbocharged typhoon package. (just that theres sooooooooooooooo many things i can do to my 98 i dunno wtf to start) im so confused i dunno what to do 1st.
