yes you do because you gotta remove the vc plus i think the bracket is in the way of a rocker.

You not doing springs? Those would be more of a challenge than removing the alt and tensioner brackets.

Just don't mix up the alternator bolts when you re-install it. Seem too many times that people put the long bolt in the top hole and it goes through the valve cover,
I ran 1.9's on stock springs shifting at 5850
