Do i need a tune for just headers?

I have a stock 97 gtp the only mod i have is a HAI and it makes my ses light come and flash. I planned on doing a 3.4 pulley setup but for right now i just want headers. I was wondering if i should buy a zzp tuned pcm or just tune mine my self (If so what kind of tuner is best). Also do i even need a tune for headers? thanks for looking.

Intake shouldn't make your ses light flash if it's flashing you have a misfire. I ran on the stock tune with my 3.4 setup for a while before i threw my zzp pcm into it. But fix your misfire first.

but there's nothing wrong with my car ive cleared the code several times and it keeps popping up. did you have this problem before

P0300. Are they platinum plugs? I'd swap them out for some autolite 606's and see if it makes any difference.

when you get a random misfire, that means its jumping around, not 1 steady cylinder.

change the plugs if no change, change the wires.

what wires did you get when you changed them?

Flashing SES light means Multi Misses.. I would start with the coils... Or the ICM..... But I would get it fixed.... Not too good.. REALLY would not do a pulley drop on that stuff... I know thats not your question. Just trying to help.

your car is not fine. if you keep clearing the code and it comes back your car is screaming "im broke dont kill me" i would do plugs, wires, coils, icm, in that order. with some check for vac leaks thrown in for good measure

im gonna do the plugs. the wires are acdelco plug wires. i havent checked the icm or the coils and they are both original on the car.
