do flowmaster make gtps faster?

i have a 2000 gtp with 3.4 pulley 180 stat cooler plugs and k&n air intake and am thinking about putting some flowmasters on my car but have heard it makes the car alot faster but also have heard it does nothing at all so any body no for sure?
 


No, you will not see much of a performance gain from a set of flowies. You should save your money and buy a set of headers. Besides I haven't heard a GP that I liked the sound of the exhaust yet..

So just buy a set of headers, you will get a much more performance and you should have gotten them before dropping pulleys.
 
oh ok kool i heard that before but im looking to make my car faster than it is buit dont know what els to do to it without ripping the whole motor apart. any ideas on what to do?
 
yeah I would buy a set of headers, you have many options to choose from. They are always going down in price
 
how much did you pay for yours? and do you know of anybody on here looking to buy h.i.d. head lights or just the bulbs or anything that hast to do with lights because i sell pretty much everything like that
 
If you post in the classifieds section I am sure you will find people who are looking for them. And I haven't bought mine yet, I am waiting on another member to install his and test his out because if they are good I will be picking them up because they are a lot cheaper than most.
 


Well welcome to the site, and headers would be your best investment, at this point, have you had your car scanned for KR or anything with that pulley on it? it might be knocking like a SOB! not good lol
 


x2 on what white said. Flowies on our cars don't do much but make it louder. And no there are many chicago members but I am from Ontario,Canada :)
 
no i havnt had it tested or anything yet. i jsut baught the car a few months ago and put all that stuff on it before winter came. but its still not fast enough so im trying to find things to do it without spending a ton of cash
 
maybe one day but I am all performance here lol. I couldn't care much about the looks until I get her numbers where I want em

Well I would put the stock pulley back on until you get headers because there isn't enough supporting mods, or buy them asap and install /scan scan scan scan and then tune tune tune
 
lol ya im trying to get my car as fast as i can this is the second one ive owned my first one caught on fire due to pontiac ****ing it up and ihad no idea about the recall on them for that lol
 
Well it might not feel fast enough because its knocking so hard and pulling timing I really recommend putting the stock pulley back on. at least until you open the exhaust up.
