DIY tint?

How hard is it to do tint yourself and have it actually come out good?
I only know one guy that did it himself and had it actually come out really good, looks professional. But everyone else I've seen try to DIY it, it's ended up either looking purple or bubbly. I hate when it has that purple tint to it.

Dont waste your time and money, that is all. The cost of tint alone makes it not worth it. The stuff that the pros buy in bulk is better than the off the shelf crap anyways and its priced way too high. That is all.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Just wanted to make sure.

I've done both and the having it professionally done is the way to go. That way you also get a warranty with the tint. Most places warranty their tint against bubbles, peeling, fading, ect. and will replace it for you if you have a problem.

I didi the windows in my 94 Z28:

Its not hard at all. back window can be a pain..but the sides are extremely easy.

i like knowing that when im taking it to the shop to pay then to put it on that im getting a lifetime warranty on the tint and its of fantastic quality. i dont do the $99 tint things. my car cost $275 to tint it all around with quality tint.

i got mine done for 180, and i wouldn't have it any other way. it came out perfect, and has a lifetime warranty...

That pic urlosin posted is actually really good, but yeah I guess I should just go to a shop in the spring. It's gunna look sick with the black I can't wait.

I do ok with the fixed windows. As far as back windows (or other curved ones) goes, when cutting to size on the outside of the window use a heat gun, or blow dryer, to take the wrinkles out of the tint and hug the window real nice then when put on the inside it takes the curves and sits flat on the glass. Now as for the roll down windows, ahhhh that I have not been able to do perfect, mind u I have only done 2-3 tint jobs ;-)on my own vehicles, not a lot of practice. I figure next time I do tint, if I do, I might look into removing the windows apply the tint then reinstall the windows, As much as I like to do DIY I will prolly just save money and get it done tho lmao lol

brain in the spring me and u can hit up the pink building in crystal lake they do hella good jobs thats where im going to get mine done :)

Yeah man I was gunna get it done in the spring too, I'm thinking 35% up front, 15% in all the backs, and a 5% brow. I've seen it done on a black GP before, looks good. Your car's gunna look sick with the tint too.
