Disabling my failing emission code checks for emissions this week

I have to get my emissions done by Friday, 3/27/09 or else my registration will be revoked.

I haven't been able to fix code P0102. Low sensor circuit frequency to MAF.

If I disable the emissions codes so I can pass emissions is there anyway they would find out?

What are the potential consequences if I get caught? Thanks

if you disable the codes they wont show up so you will pass, but why dont you just get a new MAF if you need one?

Be aware, writing the PCM will cause the emissions test to reset, so they have to rerun, and that could take a couple hundred miles. You'll fail until they complete.

if thats the case then i will rewrite it tonight and i should be more than fine by Friday.

Would that work?

I will be getting a new MAF but funding for repairs are a little tight. im doing fine with the map sensor and im not going WOT so for now im just worried about saving $128 to re-register my car.

where are you located? i know in ontario canada the engine light and codes dont matter for an etest they will still run the test with it on. I used to do them and you might not fail. Over 40% of the tests i did all had engine lights and codes and most of them still passed

for those that are skeptical, i just got my emissions tested today and i have no EGR, but the codes turned off. i also dont have a VIN that matches my car in the PCM. i passed without even trying.

That wouldn't pass in Canada :(

Yea all my codes are cleared.. I run a scan on my laptop and nothing comes up.. the SES light is still on however. Last time I failed the SES light was on and they still ran the test.
