The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Easy answer is no, I think someone on ClubGP tried to put in digital control in theirs a while back but never heard of it being easy or sucessful. Back N Black would probably be the person to ask on ClubGP. Maybe someone here has tried.
Now I do believe that some of the non-dic cars did have the harness installed and then tucked in behind the dash so if you wanted to check and try that it might be a possibility.
Not worth it unless you feel like taking the interior of the car out all the way to the firewall and changing almost all of the HVAC components. Sorry...
I believe the at least the 98 to 00 year models had the option of the Digital Climate control. My 98 had it and it was buggar to keep from blowing up. I had swapped it out twice cause the LED lights in the temp window kept going out. That is probably GM pretty did away with them.
And like Black said, the options you would have to change do not make it even worth the hassle to have it. The manual stuff is much better, accurate, and less prone to electrical problems as compared to the Digital Temp unit.
I understand now that it this is a difficult project. But can anyone confirm if there is a possibility that some cars have the harness tucked away behind the manual? I doubt mine does (2001) but who knows, right? My manual one is junk and wanted something new.
Yeah I have a 98 and I have digital climate control, although I've never had a problem with it, it seems to be pretty accurate, although I do have A/C problems... passenger side runs colder than driver side, but doesn't run as hot as driver side gets.
