Difference between KYB GR2 struts 97-98 vs 99-03??

Looking to replace the struts on my 2000 GTP.

KYB says 97-98 use part #334227 and 99-03 use part #339015 (front struts)

Yet, all Monroe replacements use the same strut for 97-03??? (front struts)

Just wanting to know what the difference is, is one firmer than the other?

Also, for the rear, KYB GR2 rear strut #334228 is the same for all 97-2008 grand prix, and the standard impala.. But KYB makes part #339148 for the impala with "special handling package"... Could #339148 be an upgrade for grand prix's?

Thanks,

Jeramie

I have the GR2's on the front of my GTP, and personally, I would not want it any stiffer (me getting old maybe). It is a little stiffer than stock, but they do work great.
As for your question if the Impalla one would be an upgrade over the GP one, perhaps the Impalla handling package would be for Police cars? If it is stiffer, or has different valving inside, I don;t know how one would know unless you try them, of call KYB and see if someone has technical knowledge of the difference.

Doesnt make any sense.

All GP from 97-03 use all the same parts

Yea, I know.. The struts they list for 97-98 only are also used on minivans, buick, etc.. But the 99-03 are not used in any buicks or minivans..

Must just be valving. Why they are different, i don't know.. Seems all 97-03 would use the same one.

I have less than 6 month old Monroe sensa-tracks right now, on stock springs, and they are too soft for my liking.
