Diamond pistons

does anyone have an input on 9:5.1 pistons. Ive got a motor built with this setup and was wondering how this will benefit wit xp cam and supporting mods or can i move up to the xpz or something equivalent to it. Maybe is3 im thinking

It's not about the cam, so much as getting the most power out of the M90. So other questions must be asked, what heads, what fuel, intercooled, etc.

Unless you're planning on building the bottom end with ZZP rods and such, an L36 is cheaper.

I already have the l67 with diamond pistons bored .020 Over. L67 rods with arp bolts. I will Do Ported Heads With IC 42 lbs Injectors and Such. Just tryna Understand the which Will Benefit With The 9:5.1 pistons

It's about maximizing the power you get out of the M90. You can reach a point where it just makes more heat, and the next step is more static compression. If you're throwing everything at it, you'll easily reach that, so the added compression will help.

Stiatic Compression rate of the engine.

For example na 3800 has higher compression than a l67 so top swapping a na engine will make more hp than a stock l67

oh ok i think i understand. So would it be beneficial to install the gen v sc on it with a bigger cam then the xp cam that i will install

It really all depends on what i am able to run. Im fine with the xp but would i be better off with the xpz or is3. I have read many that have the xp but wish they ran the xpz. I just wanna do it right the first time around

You can run whatever you can stomach in driveability and part lifespan.

Right is what's right for you. Now if you want the most power, a larger cam would be a step in the right direction. However you'd also want a nice set of heads to go with it.

But that also depends just how far you want to push it, what fuel, intercooler etc.

There is no end all be all answer here, it's just how much money you can stomach to spend, or what limitations you're willing to accept.

Mods to consider would be:

- E85
- Ported heads
- Cam choice
- Intercooler

If you're looking for build sheets with dyno slips, I can't help you there. Try doing a little research on CGP. There aren't many serious builds over here.

i understand what your saying matt. I plan on adding an intercooker the cam i currently have not yet installed is the xp. Fuel ive got 42lb bosch injectors. E85 is last on my list cuz i dont fully understand the e85 deal. I will look into that. Of course i will do ported heads stage 2 or 3. Whichever i can get my hands on first. Ive been piecing together as i go so its as said whichever i get my hands on first

Your going at it wrong imo if you can run e85 skip the intercooler and put the intercooler money towards heads and 60# injectors.

If you keep the xp and do e85 your build will be the same as jayroca.

Xp cam, gen5, headers, ported heads.

OK cool cool i will look into that. Heads and transmission are my next endeavor so i will be looking to see if i should go stage 2 or stage 3. Something that will handle the power. I should go to 60lb injectors regardless though shouldnt i.
