DHP Error #168 ???

Alright so he is pretty much the break down i have owned a powrtuner for about 2 years now, and lately it has been flashing weird (rx buffer would get a yellow square by it) and would take a really long time to write files so i thought maybe it had do with with the o.s. so i wipe the computer harddrive and re-installed xp with all the other tuning goodies and everything seemed to work find until i tried to flash my 98 gtp on Sunday it ended in epic fail everything wrote just fine and then on Part #3 of updating the VIN it failed i tried recovering it many times and it never work (cooling fans kicked on and fuel pump kicked on and anytime that they key is in the "ON" position they are both on and fuel gauge bounces). I had to turn the key off (which might had been a mistake) but now i get a Error #168 the part where it freezes is when it tries to put the pcm in Uplaod mode (it is kinda like it is stuck in "UPLOAD MODE" so i bought another PCM today and the same thing happened again....umm anyway to fix these are are these brick's? OSID is for a 98 so i know that wasn't the problem

Are you using a serial connection or are you running through a USB adapter? I've had a few upload errors, but managed to recover them all before they went south. You may end up having a bad com port connection, might try to switch them up and see if that fixes the problem.

I have the same problem.
The upload ran smoothly until the VIN update failed.
After that readings work sporadically but an upload/download is not possible anymore since the program cannot obtain the seed.

Also it is not a connection issue (this even comes up when communicating via an ELM dongle). Any ideas how to fix this?
