DHP compatibility

Ive had a DHP tuner for my 2004 L32 CompG for almost as long as Ive had the car. The problem is I always let my father mess with tuning stuff. A few years back he ended up Bricking the PCM. Im not sure where he got the new PCM from, but I do know he never messed with the tuner after that. My father has since passed and now I have the car and tuner. I finally got around to hooking it up to the car and it will read the pcm, logs, and dtcs. When I go to upload the file onto the pcm I get a warning for OS ID not recognized. When I looked at the general info it comes up as a 2004 L67. Will it brick itself if i try to write anything on it? I know the 04s are a little finicky when its comes to this, just trying to be safe.

So I pulled the fuse and read the PCM and it still wont let me write anything. It will only let me read the file on the car. I found the updated Cal. ID from gm website that goes to my vin. Do I need to use the newest ID? Will my 1.5 tune that was on my original PCM still be able to be written on this new PCM? Thanks in advance.

was the dhp set up on a new laptop? or the same one as always?

you need a database on the lap top, then in file or edit, one of them drop down menus is "use database"

I know it was setup on our old laptop, I am not 100% sure if my father ever set it up on this computer. It looks like it has been, everything looks up too date. I still have my old tunes on files. Im also not that too familiar with DHP software. Are you talking about compact database under the tools menu?

that might be it. its been years since i used dhp.

some bin files are not supported, so you might need to flash a different file to your pcm. unless you've tuned this car in the past. then i got to be something else thats not right.

The stock PCM had a 1.5 bin tune on it. Im not exactly sure how that PCM was bricked, just know that it was. Also know that the pcm he got has stock tune in it, so theres no way he flashed it. I will try to compact the database and see what happens, Im not sure what else to do.
