• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Deprived of XM

My 08 was made without XM. I have the XM module from my 07. My dealer refuses to try to install it, gave me some bull**** about how the head unit was reprogrammed in 08 to not allow XM.

The small issue, of course, is that, aside from the fact that GM would never have bothered to alter a head unit in the last year of production, my head unit isn't even an "08"--it's an unlocked unit off eBay. And it's exactly the same unit I used to listen to XM in my 07.

I was also told there was no way to get audio cables for a 14 year old car. In the same visit where they installed a brand new fog light in a 14 year old car.

Does anyone know if the cables are actually available and the tech is being an idiot, or am I going to have to go on a strange boneyard trip?

Crutchfield won't help with 100% factory equipment, and I don't want anything else. They exist to sell aftermarket garbage. (Yes, that was redundant.)

Hurricane87, I recently bought GM 19154567 XM satellite radio receiver module kit 2006-2008 Grand Prix. It costs $48.16 with free shipping on ebay and includes all parts including antenna, antenna wire and all harnesses to attach to 2008 radio. Also includes instruction manual.
Only problem is my car doesn't have On star either, not sure if the Onstar has anything to do with the Sirrus XM or not.
