Dent repair question.Is this possible?

So we had a strong wind storm,60mph gusts, and a large branch flew outa my tree and hit the top of my car. The impact was on the outer passanger side of the roof rail on my 08 GP above the front door. The section between the top of door and the roof.
I got an estimate for the "watch face" sized dent from a local body shop, and they est.$445.00. Kinda seems like alot to me. The said they have to do the entire roof,remove rails and all to fix.
My question is has anyone successfully repaired a dent using this hairdryer and air duster method? I was told it works, so I Googled it. Saw some videos of it working, but they were all on larger dents usually on larger body panels. My dent is on a thin piece of panel and a smaller dent. I would love to save the money, but afraid to mess up the paint. It's killing me to see the dent everyday, but if I crack the paint or something, I'll definitely be paying the bill. Trying to decide to leave it alone?
 


i have done it before and sooner the better for your chances, but it does depend on the dent and its worth a try
 
if the paint was un harmed check out a paint less dent removal place. they used suction cups and air pressure to pop the dent out. its pretty cool, check out you tube for vids.

I went through a hail storm with hail ranging from golf ball to tennis ball, my windshield got smashed out and the entire body of my car was dimpled like a golf ball.
They did the paintless dent removal on the whole car and not a single dent remains, you could never tell it had dents.

All I paid was my 500 deductible, the total bill for the dent removal was just about a thousand... windshield was another story but...

Point is, if the whole car was a thousand, I think your one little spot will be much cheaper. I got it done at a GM dealer.
 
So I tried uploading a pic, but seems the file is too big.i'll try again later. I'm gonna call the GM dealer and ask if they do PDR.If so, I'll go that route.I just don't see paying that much or having to have the entire roof redone. The paint wasn't damaged outher than a few surface scrapes. No cracking or anything. Sure that can be buffed out.
Thanks for all the responses. Small town, not much as far as mobile dent repair round here. If deallers don't do PDR, then I'll give the diy thing a try.
 


So I tracked down a PDR guy that comes through my area.Said he'll be up in 2 weeks.Est $20-$80 for the repair.Although, he said in the location of the dent,it may be hard to get to.Said usually above the door theres an inner bracing (to help in the event car rolls) that may prevent him from getting clear access to. Said he might be able to poke through the rubber though. Do I want him poking holes in my car haha. I'm sure he knows what he's doing.Came with a good referral from dealership.
 
I had mine done by a guy( Wont say his name because people dont like him here.lol) He removed the INT trim and then used a unibit to make a hole to get the tool into the area to work the dent out. Its another idea you can try. good luck and let us know how it works out
