Deka IV (4) 80# injectors?

Does anyone have these? Are they hard to tune for or just as easy as 65s? They claim that they are controllable at idle and low speed.

Only reason I ask is because I found some 65s that are $247 shipped but on ClubGP there is a group buy on 80s for $255 shipped.
 


I saw the group buy... I looked away.

Siemens are really the way to go if you're looking into that big of an injector.
 
I think I am just going to get them. $255 is a good price and I won't need bigger injectors in the future unless I do something crazy. From what I read the Deka IV injectors seem to be pretty easy to manage.
 


Tuning for these injectors on paper should not be an issue, but there are a few little things that will probably need to be worked out in terms of offsets and minimum pulsewidths.
 
What professional collects data for our 3800 pcms? Pretty sure nobody "professional" has.

I also call bullcrap on the stupid "greg banish" crap that he has "secret" information. I was pushed into some crap with 60# injectors on the LSx cars for some reason... I ended up just making my own values for the offset table based on some SIMPLE math, and they ended up being the same... The sad part is injector offsets are REALLY hard to even

Offsets for these injectors are published somewhere I imagine, you can just plug it all in at first but you will have issues due to a few things in the base injector calculation.
 
I have the Greg Banish tables and another spreadsheet I found on HPtuners but am trying to see if anyone has any advice or tricks for tuning these injectors.

I will be installing them soon and expect some trail and error but anything will help, up to an including files or tables anyone wants to send me.

what data? Its formatted in ls1 talk and it could be reverse engineered, but who cares.

Just look up the rated dead times on these injectors and compare them to a 60 or a stock injector or something.. but only do this if you have problems.

Our vehicles use a FPR that is both vacuum and boost referenced which means it alters fuel pressure to ensure the pressure differential across the injector is always the same.

So your 80 lb injector will flow 87.20 lbs at 50.5 PSI.

IFR would be 87.20 flat across.

Since injector offset is related to voltage and pressure across the injector, you'll have to do some work here. Find the column at which greg's data shows roughly 87.20 lbs of flow and then head to the offset vs volts vs vacuum table. Find that vacuum level and use that data for the offset vs voltage table. You can do this because in our fuel system, pressure across the injector should never change.

Under the injector offset vs injector pulse width vs map table, you'll need to reference the short pulse adder.

The x axis value will correspond to the injector pulse widths which make up the rows in the HPT table. Find the closest points and insert the numbers. They'll round up or down based on the limit of the closest approximation the pcm can understand.

Use the same data in every column of that table.

Alternatively you can adjust IFR and the MAF calibration until you get things close.

Note: My understanding of the HPT tables could be incorrect. They're not very clear.

This isnt even close to right, in any form.

the LS data is just flat wrong... its a different pcm, different setting, and our offset table is used differently because we have a minimum injector time that is SIGNIFICANTLY different.

Matt is just a wannabe tuner and spreading garbage all over now.

Ugh. I just want to figure these out.

I would value your input if you would like to give it. By input I mean how you think I should go about tuning the injectors. I can figure out the IFR table but I am just wondering about other stuff.

Or should I just figure out the IFR table and just tune the rest through MAF tuning.

I posted up on ClubGP but I guess the people with the #80s don't care or aren't responding or both. lol
