• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Death to Good News :(

Instead of watching the light, I watch the traffic and make sure they stop before I make the turn. That really pays off because many times there's still traffic in the intersection when the light has already turned red. Doesn't matter what the light says, people just want to hurry up and get where they want to go, even if that means beating a red light, and getting in an accident. Sorry to hear about that.

yeah well I guess I'm gonna have to start doing that now. I never expected that person to run the red

It happens so much here, sometimes I don't even look at the light any more after initially pulling up. I just go once the traffic stops.

I read only half this thread.

Key here is: If you're IN the intersection when the light is yellow, and it turns red and you still happen to be in the intersection, you have right of way, whether that means continuing forward or finishing a turn. It typically is meant for left-turners, and I know in Nebraska now they have some new law saying if you're able to stop the card safely before the light turns red, you may NOT proceed through the yellow light, again meant to encourage safety for left-hand turners.

When in doubt, get VISIBLY into the intersection and then wait until it is red before actually turning.

That said, be extra careful if no one else is around, because no witnesses, it's your word vs hers and then it "is what it looks like"
