• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Dear Time Warner,

Bio248

DUI BABY
**** you and your absolutely horrible cable service. its saturday night, my lady friend has gone to bed a while ago, and i ran out of internet a while ago. i order a movie because it seems like the right thing to do at the moment...then you give me the finger and **** me over with your awesome cable experience. if i wanted to give you $5 for nothing i would have overpaid on my bill.

not only does the cable cut in and out every 20 seconds, but the sound plays while the screen is black. the horrific cable service you provide is mediocre at best. youre so damn lucky that i feel that satellite is retarded since i grew up with it and could never watch tv during a storm.

i figure, hey, why not just watch tv for a little bit longer and then resume the movie after the cable stops skipping like a burned cd i created in 1996. fast forward two hours later and this **** is still going on. if i wake up in the morning and its still skipping around like a downs kid on crack then i will take my happy ass to your poor customer service so i can get even more angry at your incapability to provide a service of decent quality. its not like youve been in this game for a few decades or anything and should know how to keep your ducks in a row.

therefore, time warner, for the last time...**** your nonsense. if i had a damn penny for everytime your cable has cut out on me for unknown reasons which you cannot explain to me when i call and ask why...i would be a god damn millionaire. the transition to HD has been over for a very long time, so whats your ****ing problem? I HATE YOU!

im actually happy with my cable company rght now. i just watched transformers 2 and im watching the new fast and furious on HBO which they have decided to give me for free :)

now that I actually read your thread. The signal problems with satellite and weather have been improved on (since that's one of your issues with cable).

..and the transition was not to HD. It was from analog to digital, which is completely different from HD (High Definition).

:)

If I refer you, you can save some cash. Lemme know when you are switching to Dish Network. ...which has always been 100% digital, and is offering free HD for life.

yeah, it should be in the rant section, but after i posted this i went to bed and figured id move it in the morning.

i wake up to the same **** going on. **** I HATE THIS.

decided to see if it was the cable or my receiver so i turn on an analog channel and guess what happens...IT DOESN'T CUT OUT.

**** YOU.

finally good to go...no cutting out now...

what the hell makes it do that? are they updating something or just ****ing me over for paying them good money?

they all suck people. ive had time warner, dish, direct tv, and brighthouse. of all the those id say brighthouse was the best. dish was the worst, they had ****ty internet and everytime the sky would fart id lose reception. whenever i wanna watch something now i just buy it on dvd. and so far ive actually saved money just buying what i wanna watch. **** tv anyways. all you get are like 100 sports channels and the news and weather. when have any of those companies ever had anything good to watch?

call em and tell em you want your money back for the days that it cuts out... they'l give you a refund of like $0.12..

it does that cuz it cable... (kidding)

seriously though, it could be anything.

rabbit ears can pick up analog, digital, and HD channels... nothing special with rabbit ears or the signals they pick up, it's all in the tuner and how up to date it is.

it all depends on how you have it setup.

Does the antenna wire straight into the tv, or does it go through the receiver and/or a vcr? (could point to a bad time warner receiver if the antenna goes straight to the tv)
How is the cable service wired? does it go from the wall to a time warner receiver to the tv?
Are all the connections tight? How old is the wiring?.. could be going bad (try replacing them 1 at a time)

if none of those fix it, plug in a different source (dvd player, etc) to the tv in the port the time warner cable is connected to verify the tv is working properly.

There's all sorts of things that it could be, before it's the actual cable company's programming.

best bet is to call the cable company if none of those work, they should send a tech out to check it out and replace whatever's broken (minus the stuff in the small print).

good luck.

good thing the cable worked JUST long enough for me to watch the movie i ordered LAST NIGHT. i just turned off the tv and now i have to find something else to do.

what antenna are we talking about? it runs into my house as a coax cable, goes into a splitter in the basement so i can get the regular channels on the tv down there, then upstairs to the cable box. from my cable box i have a HDMI cable that goes to a receiver and another HDMI cable from my receiver to the tv. it is 100% the cable in this situation that is ****ing up, i tested all my options just to make sure.

hahhhahahahaha you guys have cable...

I've had Dish Network forever. No problems. Ever. /thread.

Dish network sucked in storms.... :th_shakinghead2:

Current cable is good until the power goes out. After the power comes back on, their networks take around an hour to come back up. Not terrible.

my company will send a guy any day of the week, but they give you those stupid time windows...

GOOD LUCK.

best to find out if it was in your area or if it was something at your own place.

Depending on the age of the spliter it may be causing all of your issues. Had the same thing happen cept with the internet. The guy replaced the slitters and boom, worked perfectly and was faster.

I figured you were talking about switching from your cable box to a set of rabbit ears. That's the antenna I was referring to. I suppose I don't understand what you meant by "analog channel."

If everything checks out and you've replaced everything, call the cable company and have them come out. not sure what they'll tell you, but as long as they don't charge you out the wazoo, it should be worth it.

good luck.

....

as long as the dish has a good strong signal, you should be able to get signal through storms and snow. I've had over a foot of snow on my dish and still getting signal. rain, thunder, lightning, and wind have no effect either.

....probably just had a crappy installer, or the dish moved over time.
