Dead even with a mustang!

so i raced my brothers 99 Mustang GT the other day. His car has:
Pypes Long tube headers
X-pipe
Pypes Catback
S&B CAI
Hurst Short Throw Shifter
King Cobra Clutch

we raced from a 20 roll, and we pulled dead even the whole time up to about 95. My cars got the mod's in my sig i gotta say im very suprised this happened. Im proud of my car now haha it keeps up with stangs!!!!!!!
 


Yeah, those 4.6's like to rev...get them tuned and he'll probably have ya...but good deal either way ;)

Nothing like running something MADE to go fast with something that isn't!!

yea man, im excited to get my rockers, really good tune, and a 3.25 though soon. i should be pullin low 13's which is exactly what im looking for
 


he lost some torque with the long tubes but it should deff pull high in the rpms. there is a local guy with an x-pipe, cat-back, ported plenium, bigger tb, intake, 4.10 gears. dynoed 270hp 320tq. last track day it went 13.4 at 103 or 104 on street tires. 2.0 60"

wow all those mods and only a 13.4 ls1's run that stock.
 
I dunno. I always thought stangs were slow. I went to the track a couple weeks ago. There was a dude running an 01 gt with cai and a catback with street tires and the best I mean the BEST he could pull was a low 15 quarter. He ran horrible all day cuz he sucked at drivin but I've toasted several fox body and newer stangs no problem.

2v's blow with the 4.6 and 5.0s are slow as balls from the factory but can be made hella stong :p

but a 13.4 is not bad. my car is no pushover and i have a ways till i get there. somewhat..... :)
 


yeah nobody from my school believes me that i kept up with a stang. they all dont know what a gtp can really do... thats why when these cars kick peoples asses they are all like WHAT THE HELL???

i love the sleeper factor...i can't wait to get some true performance mods so i can do the same ****

I surprised everyone with my car, when i got it running this past friday, everyone thought it would be much slower than what it is on my baby tune :D

I've had the same problem...just smoke anyone that says your car is slow. :p
 
I actually own both a 99 Mustang GT and a 99 GTP. I raced my friends GTP with a smaller pulley and my mustang had only 3.73's and a catback......cars had same acceleration but I had him by a car on the launch and wasnt even that great of a launch. Mustangs are underpowered compared to the LS1s. Keeping a 2v 4.6 naturally asp with every performance part will barely push 350rwhp.
 
yeah, 99-03 mustang gt's arent even a big deal to my car...and i had no mods when i toyed with one in d.c. maybe the guy didnt know how to drive his stick, but i was running with him, he was revving good, and he didnt catch up to me until about 70-75 from stop light..i know it sounds unreal, but come on, he must have sucked at driving..shoulda switched seats and tried...
