Dead battery warranty?

Long story short, I bought a battery from Advance Auto Parts 3 years ago. The battery is supposed to have a 4 year warranty. Well, Advance Auto went out of business a couple years ago, so I have nowhere to exchange the battery. Is my only course of option to call the manufacturer and hope for a refund? I would assume that contacting the manufacturer wouldn't really get me anywhere as the cost of shipping a battery would probably be pretty expensive?

Maybe your local Advance went out of business, but Advance is still running strong.

As for what to do, contacting the manufacturer my be your only chance to get it replaced, the problem is they usually require it to be tested to be returned.

Any advances anywhere near you? It might be possible to take the battery to another parts store who carries the same brand of batteries and have them take care of it.

they would only pro rate you a new battery anyways, being 3 years into a 4 year battery, you would have gotten like 20 or 30 bucks off the new battery, its not like they hand you a new one if it fails before its expiration date.

All the Advances in ND went out of business, and the next closest one to Fargo in MN (Fergus Falls) also went out of business.

Delco batteries last a long time in the applicatiosn they were made for.

About every aftermarket battery I've seen lasts half as long.

Delco batteries aren't really made in NA anymore it seems.

Last one I saw said "made in Korea" on it.

So thats kinda left me wondering what the quality is like.

Especially considering they just underwent a recent price increase in the fall.

We used to have 2 Advance Auto's in Fargo (Maybe 3?), but they closed down a few years ago. I was kinda disappointed cuz my brother worked at one of them so I got his employee discount!

I'll try my luck with calling the manufacturer on Monday and see what they say. I ain't gonna hold my breath. It's not the end of the world if I have to buy a new one, I would have just preferred to keep that 100 bucks in my pocket!

I replaced my factory battery about a month or two ago. Didn't look at it to see where it was made.

your warranty does not get you a "NEW" battery for "free" you would have gotten a pro rated price on a new one, meaning that they would pay you back for the 1 year left on the battery. so basically you still need to buy a new battery.

you can buy a battery with anything from a one to ten year free replacement here. are you guys sure it's four year pro-rated only?

i've never seen a "FREE" replacement here ever. if i had you know i'd be buying them. unless its a dealer warranty which i have taken advantage of in the past. but all the after market battery warranty's that i see here in the states are pro rated, no matter how many years the battery is rated for.
