So a few weeks ago I noticed when I pulled in my garage that my lights weren't on. I asked my daughter if she saw them on when I was following her and she said they weren't. This is during the daytime. At night they work just fine and after a few moments after pulling into the garage and shutting the door so it's dark they come on. Is this an expensive fix? And what is causing it? I know that I can turn them on manually but I don't bother doing that because I just know that I will forget to turn them off and come out to a dead battery. Let me know if this is worth bothering with or letting it go as long as they come on at night. Thanks!

The problem is that the headlights should be on in the daytime automatically. I did some checking on the internet and it seems to be a really complicated problem, not just a simple fuse. I bought the car a year ago and they have always worked in the daytime but not now. What fuse would it be?

well why do you want lights on during the day?
Well, the reason for daytime running lights is that it is a proven fact that accidents are reduced. Also during rain, snow, and fog they are even more useful. I want to know how to fix it and if it is worth it, not a ? on why I want them on. Do you know how to fix it or not?

Well, I'm not so sure this is your problem, but are your DRL's unplugged? Reason I'm wondering is cause I unplugged mine a week or so ago cause I don't need to be using up headlight bulb life during broad daylight....and cause I just wanted to (lol).
Anyways, if you want to check just pop off the access panel on the left side of your dash (flat head screwdriver works great for this). The panel is by where the drivers door and dash meet so the door will have to be open, but after you've got it open just look inside for any unplugged wires. My DRL box was located inside this access panel and to the left, like towards the front of the car. The box that the cable should be plugged into looks kinda like a little silver heatsink. If you see the wire is unplugged, just plug it back in and viola! working DRL's. If that doesn't work I don't know what to say other than "I tried.... :th_shrugshoulders: "

When there's rain, snow, or fog.. I'd recommend just turning your headlights on

ok if ya wanna be like that... Id say either waste a tone of money on a mechanic to find that electrical problem in your switch/sending unit or... fix your left hand mod and turn them off and on yourself...
and its not a "fact" that accidents are reduced, its a theory...
the reason I asked why you even wanted them was because I was wondering if it was because you are concerned about the resale value or over all function of your head light assembly in regards to the daytime running lights not working. If this were the case it would have allowed us to help you more/ maybe answer your question quicker...

Wow, gtpsleeper, way to make me feel welcome on here by insulting my being new. I specifically asked in my post IF it was worth fixing or not. Apparently it's not. You don't need to insult me and if that's how you feel about new members, don't bother responding to us. I'm not stupid, I like having them on without having to constantly turn them on manually. Kind of how you surely like the convenience of your remote control for your TV I assume. If I want to waste my money having a mechanic fix it that's my business and none of your concern. I could care less about the resale value of my car as I intend on being it's last owner. It's not a THEORY either, there is proof. As far as you helping a noob, you never helped with anything! You only questioned me why I wanted them on. If that's your version of helping, then you need to look it up in the dictionary.

yeah id say if you have checked all the cheap options and it isnt any of those dont really worry about it. Yeah there is proof about it causing less accidents but hey think on the bright side since they are only running at night then the life of the bulbs are extended
I just put HID;s in my gtp and unplugged the DRL cuz i didn't want it running during the day cuz i hate how cars look with headlights running during the day lol

I would guess checking out the DRL Diode 98L36 talked about. Seems to me if unplugging it causes your condition then it going bad would cause the same issue, right? But only a guess. Check out BackinBlacks website, he kinda explains what 98L36 is talking about.
