Where abouts is the panel, underneath or up top?On the drivers side dash there is a panel that you can remove. Inside you will see a connector going to a heatsink. Pull that connector off. That disables the DRL's on 97-03's.
is that going to the module?

Excellent! The more info the better. Thanks TLSeff..Searching "disable driving lights" or just "drls" gives so many threads like this it isnt funny... one of them has pictures but i cant find it and after a minute i spent too much time :th_shakinghead1:

^^^ is the main thread for this
Its simple, 97-03 has 2 options
#1 look on the drivers side at the fuse box, there is a fuse for them, drls or fog lights or something to that effect (my 99 is like that currently, you just have to use the actual switch, they don't come on at night any more)
#2 is unplug the main module. twilight still works, so the headlights come on at night, open passenger door, where the door meets the dash on the side is a plastic panel, give a tug and open the glove box, you should then see the heatsink, just unplug it and voila :th_winking:
newer cars dont like the DRL fuse being pulled.
they make an awful noise till you put the fuse back in.
And if that doesn't work (didn't for me), you can do this.If you want to disable the auto headlight feature then do what is written in this link.
Headlamp Control
It is really easy. You just have to put a switch on the blue wire of the plug that you removed.I considered pursuing full manual function but not sure if I want to delve that deep.
