dash lights don't work

I have a 98 Grand prix GTP and the dash lights don't work and the radio display doesn't work. also when the headlights come on the heater/ac display turns off. The HUD does not work too. I checked all fuses in the car and under the hood and they all are good. I need some help!!
 


i could be so entirely off here, but I thought i've heard some time that if ur tail lights are out that it cuts ur dash lights. check all ur bulbs?

I checked all the lights and found out the window stop light was out so I put new bulbs in it and still the dash lights don't work! My buddy is a mechanic so I am going to see him tonight and he is going to check a few things.
 
found the problem! It was the headlight switch!! The wire that turns on the dash lights in the switch was burned up.
 


almost everything is well. the HUD still does not work all the time and the radio display still does not light up but the display does work so it just needs the light bulb replaced. All my dash lights, power window lights, shifter lights, and the climate control stays on when the head lights turn on. The head lights and all the dash and control lights use the same wiring harness that all go to the headlight switch. I spent a few hrs trying to find out what was wrong with no luck my Buddy who is a mechanic took about 15 min to find the problem!!
 
Where did you get your headlight switch? I have the exact same problem....I have a bad burning smell...everything still works but the dash lights dim on their own. I disconnected the switch and the smell went away.
