Dash light problems plz help

I have a 2000 GT the other night getting close to dark when headlights usually turn on and dash lights kick on and dim i noticed this wasnt happening. I tried manually turning on lights n noticed my dash lights come on a lil brighter then quickly dimmed out to nothing!! I stoped to assure i had headlights n tails wich I did so I went on. A few mins later smoke started rolling outta dash at headlight switch n lost headlights n all, I quickly pulled over n unplugged the switch wich had already started to melt at plug in. Today I replaced switch and plug in and have all head n tail lights but when headlights come on or are manually turned on dash lights brighten up n quickly fade out to nothing, except for Radio and Info screen. Im lost plz help!!!!!!:th_scratchhead:
 


Might have cooked the DRL module. And since the headlight switch started to melt you may want to check the plug again and make sure that no wires have melted their insulation and are grounding out behind the dash.
 
Found the issue after hrs of searching it was the illumination wires, wich were never connected or capped off after a New CD player was installed.
