• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Danielle's 99 GT :)

Haha I don't even have a chance to spend before the wife says hell no...she saw me put way way to much money in my subaru...what brand of paint it the purple?

I've got bills and vacation coming up and possibly moving out...so yeah. Gonna be tight for awhile.

And the purple is Dupli-Color Metalcast. You will need the "ground coat" and then the top coat color of your choice.
Dupli-Color :: Metalcast

Stuff goes on super smooth. I did all the braces under hood and those 2 calipers with 1 can of the ground coat (still have a bit left) and I went thru probably 1.5 cans of the purple. And then 1 can of clear did everything.

So its heat resistant...I saw that paint at lowes when I got the plastidip but I wasn't paying much attention to it...vacations are awsome but they can get expensive real fast

yeah the duplicolr website says its up to like 300 or something, would have to look it up to get an exact number for you, and well I'm lazy lol

i plan on doing mine using the blue and base coat for silver. danielle just beat me to it

Ok kids, update time!!!!

I got my new sunshade in the mail today.  Lucky for the car, because little does it know its supposed to be triple digits later this week. Hello cool interior :)
It's really cool, fits very well and you can flip it over for the winter and it does the opposite - keeps the interior warm :)
Fits right down in the bottom of the dash and tucks tightly to the top, stays put and I could probably get away without even using the visors as support.
I can give a better review in a few days after I use it, but I think it will work out just great.

If anything, I wish the area around the rear view mirror was a little smaller.

And now for the good part, altho I think I was more excited about the sunshield....tips didn't look as good as I was imagining, you'll see why...

They don't fit up into the cut out as much as I was hoping :(
They are straight with the muffs tho, so idk.  I know jack about exhaust.  Boyfriend swapped them out for me while I was at work today.
When I have the car jacked up to do rear calipers and fuel filter, I may check out the hangers.  Could those be bad or loose and that's why the tips are hanging low?
But I am happy with them and the way the look (minus the low).  I just gotta clean them up again and be all set.

And no worries, car is sparkly clean now. I washed her after my meeting so all the nasty stuff and bugs didn't get baked on before it was bath time again.

Thanks guys!

And yes Jordon, it was :)

This is who I got mine from:
Sun Shades for Cars, Trucks & SUV - Custom Windshield Sun Shades, Visors & Screens - UV Car Window Shields & Reflectors

I got the ultimate one, mainly because it looked stiffer. I am so sick of my floppy one not staying put (even with visors down and cramming it in the cracks, it would still fall), I wanted to be sure that this one won't move at all. And I'm pretty sure it won't. It fits very very snug.
I ordered mine on Monday, it shipped Wednesday and I got it today.

the one i have i bought at my local auto store (canadian tire)

its blue on one side, silver on the other, blue side goes out, and uses suction cups to stay put.. works pretty good.

No matter what ya do still gets oven like in there.

I doubt I will use it in the winter, unless car will sit for days at a time but idk. I like the fact that I can keep my windows cracked, come out to the car after work and sit down, grab the steering wheel and shifter without scalding my skin. To me, that makes these things worth every penny! Even with tint, the inside of my car still get so stinkin hot. This helps tremendously. And if it saves my seats and dash from cracking, even better. It'd be neat to keep a thermometer in there to track the differences. It's true test comes Thursday....high of 101*.

I think I might call in sick to work and not leave my a/c bedroom.

yeah, you can crack the sunroof too, great vent

i wanna get vent visors i think, allow me to leave windows down a smidge without issues

I try to leave my roof cracked a bit if I remember.

And I suggest vent visors. I've had them on every car I've owned.
They allow you to keep windows cracked without worry of someone being easily able to get in the car. And fresh air when its raining and no wet :)
And I think they look stylish too. Sunroof vent is where I draw my line.

Only if the tips were a tad larger. oh so close.
but i enjoy the visor and may need to get one.
Its also suppose to 100 here in Michigan this week and black leather gets quite warm after sitting outside for 10 hours straight while im at work.

have you ever noticed, and i don't care what car it is, with out vent shades on the doors when its raining, even if you have the window cracked a tad bit, water always lands right on the window switches, never fails.

vent shades solves that problem too. and letting in fresh air while driving in the rain is so nice to have with out any water getting in. keeps your windows from fogging up too.

On the hangars are rubber do-hickies that after a while can stretch out. You may need new ones...or better ones to really pull them up so they sit in the cutouts like you want.

The factory ones look like this, you can see why they stretch so well once you get under the car

But there are also these further up on some models, I've debated on using these on the backs to really pull them up as mine sag still after getting new ones. :(
