Danielle's 99 GT :)

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

if you super screw up the facias. an auto paint supply store can sell you the correct factory color in a spray bomb

How much does a can run normally?
I've never looked into getting one custom made.
I might do that anyways, because the front fascia is looking rather rough.

Since its getting colder, I might just paint the other grill so it matches and wait until spring to change colors and paint fascias..

here I go with the typical indecisive female thing again...

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

I do like it. Its different, yet subtle and not over done looking.
It was hard to paint because you couldn't see it going on.
That is just one medium coat.
I just can't decide if I wanna try and color match the grills to the fascia or just leave them the black they are.
I don't really wanna repaint fascias.
However, if I do...I will most likely change color scheme from red to something else.
Maybe purple? Or maybe I will just change my color scheme anyways...

well if youre already thinking you wanna change the color scheme then just do it. thats what modding is all about making the car how you want it, giving it some of your personality. i say do it, its different, its subtle, and youll feel that much better everytime you look at it. and if i were you id try to match the inlays to one of the colors in the spectrum that the glitter shows.

I like your thinking! Im trying to get sunny/daylight pictures of it but its not working so well. Blue/Orange/yellow seem to be the dominate colors in the one picture. I like purple tho, cuz its more rare. Blue would be ok too..

The craigslist ad said they were brand new...well they sure are. The stickers are still on the light socket holes :)
I can't wait to get them put on! (probably won't have time until Sunday)

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

Good Score on the clear corners, had some on my 97 GT and can't wait to get some for my 98 GTP. If you can get some Stealth Bulbs for them or some sort of bulb with a chrome/amber tint. If not the amber bulb will make them look like yolk inside, just my .02 and the little 194 bulb on the side, I had a red ones instead of white.

Clears on my 97

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

where would i be able to snag up some corner "stealth" bulbs? i have clear corners and the amber light on the inside makes the clear corners look like crap at certain angles.

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

I love the idea of the stealth bulbs, but I think $30 is kinda salty. Call me cheap.
Pretty sure I'm just gonna rock the amber bulbs for now.

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

I would recommend the sylvania silverstar turn signal bulbs if you can find them. I run those in 3457 and a stealth bulb in 194 tat I got from autolumination.

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

So the silverstars are clear but light up amber? I'm looking online and that's the way it appears to me.

Re: 1999 Grand Prix GT

Well, here they are....

Does the sidemarker bulb need to be orange (or something other than white)? I got orange ones with the new corners but just left the white stockers in. I don't know if they have to flash orange when turn signals are on??

I think they are going to take some getting used it, its a lot of white going on in the front. Now I really wanna change inlay colors. I had to work today and was gone all day yesterday, so she won't be getting much attention for another 2 weeks. 26 days and only 1 day off in between doesn't leave much room for free time. I still gotta do the other grill in glitter and I'll try the front fascia. Most likely, it's gonna wait until warmer spring weather unless it stays this nice for a couple weeks. I don't exactly like the orange color the bulbs give off, but I'm not paying $30 for the stealth's. I'm gonna try and hunt down something (can't find the silverstars around here to get a price).
