Danielle's 99 GT :)

Well, I emailed PFYC and they referred me to slp engineering...who is no longer in business.
So I emailed slponline.com and got this response:
Hi Danielle, Thank you for your email questions and your interest in our products, To the best of my knowledge there were only 2 foams seals that came with the spoiler, the spoiler attaches with your original hardware. Thanks, Don

So it looks like I will just be reusing the originals.

It almost looks like the SLP copy that is sold by elite spoilers by the looks of the inner center part. I had an SLP at one point and I believe it has the SLP logo on the bottom of the spoiler. I could be wrong since I sold it awhile back. If it is an elite spoiler then they just use some screws. I can get you a pic of the screw that I got with the gen II copy from elite spoilers. I recommend you use the washer hose mod when you install it. PM me if you have any questions.

I went out this morning and test fitted the spoiler.
I also found some new mounting hardware hidden at the bottom of the box under all of the packing stuff.

Overall, I'm happy with the way it looks (minus the color)
It was cold and very windy so I was having trouble holding onto both the lid and the spoiler, so I only put 1 bolt in the center in to hold it but it seemed to lay pretty flat and tight against the rest of the car.

Bill, engine bay is beyond dirty lol. I tried sitting the tips for the photo shoot but it didn't work. I've got them cleaned up, just not polished yet. Still waiting to place another order to get the stuff. So it just depends on that. Hoping soon tho. No worries, spoiler won't be soon. I don't want it out in the weather with fresh paint. I can't get it quoted till mid feb anyways. After seeing it on I'm super anxious!

Yay, lowered cars look AWESOME with that wing...that and the GTX :)

Get it painted and get it on womaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!

However, now that I have a PC, when the new spoiler is finally painted and ready for install, I plan on doing it again and actually polish/seal/wax the lid prior to install.
No no don't wax it right after it gets painted...Give it a month or so to cure! Aren't they teaching you anything on the PB's forum :p Car is coming along nicely!!!

I think she meant just the trunk lid to help keep it clean under the spoiler lol

Yes, Ricky you are right.

Erich, I'm not that blonde lol.

When I took it off yesterday, I was suprised at how clean it was, just some dirty water run marks.
The rubber washers didn't hold up for squat tho..they cracked and spread out way huge. Has anyone taken off the spoiler after the drain mod and found this problem? I used the orange/redish garden hose washers.

Oh, and I washed it and finally got rid of all the nasty salt/snow/interstate debris. Icky icky!

I'll have to take mine off this weekend and see. Planned on a oil change and a full cleaning waxing since spring is approaching. Will pull the spoiler and see.

Car looks good! Keep up the hard work! Pretty sure your tips are the same as the ones on my car! Good choice! Just do a res delete and keep the stock muffs with those sst tips will look dam good have some tone but still is mellow

Did you have a chance to take your spoiler off and check the washers?
I worked at the hardware tonight and looked at the garden hose washers...all we have are the orangish ones like what I used, and then some round black ones. I don't know if the black ones would hold up better being round? It might be worth it for me to try since they aren't all that expensive.

Also, for anyone out there: When I test fitted the spoiler, the one bolt I used to hold it there cut its own threads into the spoiler since there are no nut-inserts.
Would it be a good idea to maybe use some Purple Threadlocker to make sure they don't come loose?
I know blue or red would be to much, but the purple is "light" and you can undo it easily but it still holds.

Thanks!
I'm getting super anxious to get spoiler painted. I gotta figure out how to get it in the car to take it for estimates. I doubt the box is gonna fit easily.
And I'm also super excited for the tips! I wanna get them polished first. Boyfriend wants to check the car out better underneath before he puts them on incase the muffs need replaced or anything else.

I've had the urge to spend $$$$$$$$ like nobody's business.
I want wheels, roof rails, and 04+ leather....
And the car also needs new tails, I like the red led ones on ebay.
I already replaced the stockers once, and the used replacements are just as bad 7 months later.
But my monies need to go to other bills first.
Maybe once the car is paid off and I get my school loans managed a little better, I can get the car some more presents :)
I'm also thinking of picking up some gutter guard sometime and making my own grills. The lower rad support is starting to get some surface rust. I primed it and painted it white, but its starting to come thru again. And I think the grills would add a nice touch to the car and hide that ickyness.

Random Thought...I wish the pull-a-part around here had more gp's. There was another yard around the corner that looked to have a lot newer model cars, but I didn't have time to stop and check it out. So next Saturday that its decently warm and I have some free time, I am going yard hopping!
