• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Damn Clubgp!

what's going on guys..i guess i have missed most of the crap you all are talking about with people getting banned and all, as i haven't personally met a lot of you. hope that changes in the next year. as i have been reading through this site i see a lot of the same people that post over on clubgp..i have gained a lot of good info from you guys and hope to help keep it going...

Heh, i've never managed to get banned from clubgp in the past 5 years. Jeepforum.com however, that's a different story. Those guys are GAYYYYY!

X2 There are also plenty of great threads that could be 'borrowed' and put in here too for the technical info/writeups.
 
I think we will eventually have enough tallent here that we wont need to 'borrow' anything. We got a how-to section in the works. That kind of information is the kind that takes time to grow and develop and we will get there, primarily because I know there are a lot of people on here already that want to contribute.

So now it seems to me anyone that speaks up for me, or the "other" new forum get banned huh?

I say hats off to you all who posted anything I said above, and know what can happen, but still feel the need to stick it to the man.

Hows this for an idea...

We get into the member list of clubgp, and copy and past dang near EVERY email but being careful of who we invite over, such as...I don't know...CATO for example, and send them a pretyped up email message inviting them over here, where the "good members" are. New members, old members, and even members who haven't posted in a year or so. Over time...and with the word spreading...this place can only get bigger and better, while the old place will get smaller and dumber.

Might even get a "select few" IP address and go ahead and ban them now. I don't have to tell you who I would strongly suggest banning. But its members on clubgp that are not there for the club or the cars, they are there to create problems or wars even.

Thats my idea anyway. Most the people I want to leave and come over here are already here or on their way.

I will only say that we have a pre-typed message. Im sure there are several here that got a message from me before I was banned at the 'other' place.

I really dont want to start a war with them, nor really bash them. They are what they are and probably will continue to be. I dont even like using that sites name here though, because the search engine spiders will pick it up.

The reason this site was started was to give people an alternative where they could come and be participants, active members in a great community. Give of their tallents and time and be recognized among their peers and to know that their sacrifices were appreciated. I am glad to see each and every person that comes here.

Let the other place try to fix things with their 'Club Ideas' section. I personally feel they let it fall too far to try something like that now. Thats what they should have been doing and paying attention to from the start. I have no desire to put them down, talk bad about them. I'll let the community speak for itself with its numbers and its participation.

I'm not out to bash them into the dirt, or cause a war, even though many say I should. But the truth of the matter is between me and them, and what all went down, I was kinda upset, but not mad, or pissed enough to go postal or anything. It was their call to ban, and thats that. I'll go on my merry way.

As for this "ideas" thread whats that say? is it a section for members to express their ideas for the good of the club or something?

Ever forum should have one, that makes every forum a happy little community where people enjoy being there much more, if things work like they should.

i think matt n is a little worried, in the past week ive gotten invited to this forum ad 2 others. with all these new forums going up i thin one of them will at least rise up and rival clubgp, to the point that the amount of knowledge over here meets clubgp's but with less bs in between.

when people like jason get banned for wanting to help people is completely different that someone being banned for being a complete toolbag. i can say im very glad to see people like farns on here. (whether he knows it or not hes my backup plan if i fubar my stuff im trying to polish) and the thing is he's willing to help me. i dont see how that is worthy of bannination.

hopefully this forum grows to have all kinds of knowledgeable people on here.

one year i ago i was the noob asking all the questions. now i can actually help some people, whether it be from stuff ive figured out or information thats been passed on to me. either way, poeple need places liek this where they can come for information and not get otrn up because they asked a simple question.


im glad to be here.
 
My belief is, if we get solid participation from the community, that the knowledge base here will definitely rival anything found anywhere else. Its in the works actually. We are already building the areas to contain the knowledge and hopefully it will be well organized and easily searchable.
 


I decided to go check out the Farnsworth thread and yes it was locked, because FTV6.com was being discussed. I added to my profile a section about why I'd left and typed this message forum link, and yep, even in my profile it came up www.***.com. So I added spaces between the words and it showed up, we'll see if that gets me kicked out. I didn't put it in my signature, yet, I'm sure that would get the boot.

I had to log in to browse the club ideas section, I think Mike is trying put on the appearance of caring to keep people around, but most of his posts are something like "we're already doing this" or "see my other post, we've tried this before" and such. Someone started a thread about "small time vendors" and reduced fees and Mike responded that he'd thought about doing a group purchase option. I think it was fast88gs that called him on it and said you're just going to do what you want to do, why bother asking for suggestions? :)
