Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Damage guesses?

Not huge damage, but long story short a guy tried to merge into my lane on the interstate. I swerved but he still made contact. This is most of the damage. Looks like a little body work and maybe some paint.

I'm going to get it estimated tomorrow by the insurance adjuster. Guesses on total $ amount of damage?

Car still drives great, just a little bump up.

My repair was over $1700 and that required some parts and a lot of hours of work. I'd say under $1000. Maybe $700.

I just hope the shop I take it to is as expensive as it looks. I'm going to get the money then try and find a cheaper shop.

Some fancy big overhead shops charge for estimates on cars as old as yours. They all charge similar rates and price varies mostly based on what is included or skipped. The fancy shop will write it to the full extent that insurance will pay. An out of pocket type quote might be less.

This is the place the insurance suggested. I just Google it and the reviews said expensive.

Shops and insurance companies can have agreements that make paperwork simpler for them. I bet the expensive shop's services are well warrantied and that their employees have some rquired training. Not that it would make much difference in your case, though.

I agree 100%. If this was a drivetrain issue or something that needed serious work I would go somewhere i trusted no matter the cost. But this is just some scratches and dents. Probably needs some paint and an hour or so of bodywork.
So i'll try to be cheap and pocket some cash if possible :th_winking:
