• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

cylinder #2 missfire

S/C engine runs 8.5:1 compression where a N/A runs 9.4:1
More power to be had from a top swapped N/A block with a smaller pulley if you do it right. If I have to do my engine again, I am going to put my cam in a N/A block and top swap it. You have to get someone that can tune very well and tell them you are a topswapped N/A block because the higher compression can make it a bomb if not done right.
Like Scotty said, top swap a N/A block and put a 4.0" supercharger pulley on it, or since you'll have it all apart, maybe cam it if you want and run headers and stiffer valvesprings and all the fun stuff that go with that =]

so, i get it, n/a block and pistons with my sc, heads, and headers, but how do the pistons hold up when they arent meant to take the high hp?

they hold up just fine. people cam, do head work, ic and pulley down pretty good. its still a 3800 just hi compression. why you need headers to do this.

n/a guys also turbo the n/a blocks. they hold up just fine.

ohhhh so you want me to get the n/a pistons from an l67 and put it in my l67 sc LOL blonde moment, been a long day at work, need to slam some gears haha

no buy a n/a block, take the heads off it, then put your l67 heads and lim, blower pulleys on the n/a block. done deal.

the blocks are the same on the out side, everything just swaps over.

well thanks for the info! whenever i can afford to not have the car on the road ( winter time) ill consider a build, sounds like it would be fun, how does only one cylinder get a spark knock? unless its not getting proper fuel (injector)?

who knows? but no compression is no compression. aka dead engine.

you can pop the vc's off look for a bad spring or bent push rod, crank the engine vc's off watch that the rockers all move the same.

id do this before doing anything yet to make sure its a dead piston and not something fixable.

i can add some later, i mainly go on this at work, and all my pictures are on my phone, its a sick car haha, ill add some after
